Polygamists Do It Better and More Frequently
Okay, I do have to tell this one good N’awlins story, bad game notwithstanding.
Number One Son was standing on the balcony of the Homewood Suites in downtown NOLA on New Year’s Eve carrying on a running cheer with Bama fans on other balconies and on the sidewalk below.
When they started up the “It’s great. To be. From Aaalabama…” chant, a Utah fan in the next room heard the commotion, came out on his balcony, grinned at Number One and started to scream, “It’s great. To Have. Tweeeelve wives…”
Good times. Not to be nullified in the least by a team which apparently left their best stuff in Atlanta and didn’t show up ready to play.
Hats off to those Utes. Polygamists do it better and more frequently. And that includes scoring touchdowns as well.
Roll Tide, anyway. See y’all on National Signing Day. This was merely a speed bump (and a wake-up call) on The Road to Bigger and Better Things.

That’s just wrong.

I guess that depends on your religion.

I’ll have to admit I didn’t know, or care, anything about Utah football until the second game of the season when they came to the Big House in Ann Arbor and put a whoopin’ on Michigan.
Congrats to the Utes on a great game and perfect season; I think they proved themselves worthy to play with the big boys last night.
And congrats to ‘Bama on a much improved season. I believe great things are on the horizon for the Tide.
Now… on to Big 12 domination by the way of Texas and the Sooner Nation… at least I hope so.

Correction, Utah was Michigan’s first game this year.

We have short memories. Utah did this in 2004 too (The Utah crowd was shouting “Urban Meyer, Urban Meyer” last night–cute for a bunch of Utes).
They’re fit, they’re fast, they’re for real and they’re past ready for prime time.

Bama lost? I had to work late into the evening.

‘Fraid so, Sl. Believe me, you didn’t miss much. Let’s just remember that 36-0 Iron Bowl score and leave it at that.

Polygamists play football better?
I thought 2008 taught me everything I ever wanted to know about Mormons.
Guess not.

I’m not entirely sure the guy on the balcony was Mormon. He may have been posing as an 1850s stereotype.
