Duke Forever
Oh well, one out of two ain’t bad.
UNC’s Lady Heels ran into a whole “latta” trouble last night on their home floor, losing 64-53 to the Lady Devils in a battle of unbeatens. At 25-0, the Duke women now must do what they have been unable to before–close things out in the Final Four. I have a feeling that this is their year.
It’s probably no coincidence that one of Duke’s best players has the last name of Harding. It wouldn’t be the first time that sort of convergence has taken place.
He-devils or she-devils, it makes no difference to me. Duke forever.

That is the first known photo of Mike the Eyeguy to be posted on this blog (the shot was taken just prior to the men’s game Wednesday night).
Notice the prominent eyes. Reche Caldwell (click here) has nothing on me.

I posted about this last night… That’s the worst I’ve every seen Latta play, which of course, brought me great joy, since I’ve never liked her. Harding shut her down big time. She’s really played oustanding in the big games this year. That was a lot of fun. As I said in my post, I think this year’s team is better than last year’s. Bales barely scored until late and they won without much trouble.

Yes, they are better and playing with purpose. That loss to the Terps in the final last year has no doubt hardened their resolve to make amends.
And I agree with you that on the men’s side there’s much to be optimistic about, despite the three close losses. I would be interested in hearing a first-hand account of what is was like
sittingstanding among the Crazies Wednesday night.Amanda, are you out there?

Hee. Here I am — I sprained my ankle Wednesday afternoon, so I didn’t get to go to the men’s game. Lest you think I’m a lightweight fan, I wasn’t going to go to the doctor until the ankle swelled so much I couldn’t put any weight on it. Now I’ve got an air cast and crutches for a week and had to watch the game from home.
Hate to disappoint you all — believe me, I’m disappointed myself.

Sorry to hear about the injury that kept you out of Wednesday night’s game. Get well soon.
Since you’re only 2L by my count, that means you’ve got another chance next year. Not to mention all those other games, which of course, are mere “skirmishes” compared to the Big One.
Be sure to read my “Bleeding Blue Devil Blue” posts. I think they’ll clear up any unanswered questions about my Blue Devil bona fides.
