Good Mourning

Good mourning to you all. As you might expect, I will not be available today. I’ll be busy putting up some drywall over that new hole in our family room wall that, oddly enough, is exactly the same size as my head.

Truly, it cuts like a knife.

    And if you know anything about Freudian psychoanalysis and my personal history, then it’s really not hard to figure out why.

    Basically, Duke=Dad. And when Duke loses, it’s like I’m 18 years old and my father dies all over again.

    Irrational connection? Absolutely. But who says the human psyche has to make sense?

    Dukey Vitale, Billy P-ACC-ker, and Mike the Eye Guy all crying this morning.

    Just remember everyone goes home a loser except for the champion and Duke has had their share of championships.

    DV, I would root for your Tigers now, but I declared for them last year and apparently jinxed them because they went straight out and lost the next game. I’ll just keep my mouth shut this time around for your sake.

    My condolences, I know how you feel. Kansas fans everywhere have suffered the same frustration and disappointment the past two years… but hopfully not this year.

    Sorry… but no, I don’t. My wife grew up a U of M fan, as is every member of her family. So anything that hints of Michigan State– even the color green– is banned from our household.

    It’s a sad day when Duke is merely “upset” with quotation marks.

    As for the ‘Dores, I love ’em. That Lionel Richie absolutely ROCKS!

    “There’s a good chance we lost to the national champions,” Niagara coach Joe Mihalich said. “Kansas is just on another level. “We haven’t played North Carolina or UCLA, but if they’re better than this, I would have to see it.”

    We’ll take it one game at a time coach. Up next: Kentucky

    shannnon, I’m disgruntled that’s for sure. I picked the Hogs and they let me down.

    cg–I did catch a few minutes of that one–your team is very fast. I think they’ll take Kentucky.

    I thought about you when I heard the news. At least you are still alive! Some people have taken their lives for lesser disappointments.
