The Things We Take for Granted

The CNN video brings it home in all its shocking fury.

The things we take for granted: that our hearts will keep on beating, and that the bridge we’re crossing will hold fast. And then suddenly, and without warning, they don’t.

    I may never come back to Hunstville….as I can’t get there without crossing some big ole bridge. I was paranoid anyway.

    Take 231 N across the new Whitesburg Bridge. Before that went up, I used to think about the old one collapsing every time I crossed it.

    I almost refused to come that way. Terri and I sometimes go to Rosie’s on that side of town and I HATED that bridge. At least the one over the interstate seems new….
